Afternoon at the fair!

Today, Rod took off the afternoon so that we could go to the fair. It was beautiful weather and not crowded at all. We were so glad we went when we did! The first thing we did was go to the petting zoo. The boys loved feeding the animals. I think Jett wasn't too sure about some of them, but he never really got scared... on the other hand, Ethan was so excited to feed the animals! Next we went into this building (I can never remember the names of the buildings out there) where it was set up for kids. They had a "bug" station, as Ethan would call it, where you could see different kinds of spiders, scorpions, millipeeds, those nasty giant cochroaches (even typing it makes my skin crawl). This was his favorite thing to look at. They also had several incubators where you could watch baby chicks hatch. They had plants with caterpillars on them and then some with criscilas (I think I'm totally spelling that wrong-I'm talking about cocoons) and then a butterfly area. It was pretty cool! They had a cow there that had just had her calf on the 15th and it was so cute!!! They also had a milking station where you could milk a cow, but the cow was resting when we were there. She had to have been tired! They also had sheep and goats there. There were several tables where they had the wool of a sheep laid out so you could feel it. I tried to explain to Ethan what it all was because this week in pre-k he is learning about the farm and all the animals on a farm and what they provide for us. Next, we went to the horse barn and got to see they Clydesdales... they are so beautiful! The boys weren't scared at all, which I was surprised by. They even had some horses for sale, but Rod wouldn't let me go down that isle! :( I have to say that walking through the livestock buildings are my favorite thing to do at the fair! I LOVE the smells in those barns... brings back so many wonderful memories! I know that there aren't many who actually enjoy those odors, but it is great to me. So, I know I have given maybe way more info than you want to know, but it was so much fun and I wanted to share it with you. Huddy did great. I carried him on me the whole time and he got to get out and lounge in the stroller while we ate our indian taco... which was WONDERFUL!!! One tradition we have is to always buy cotton candy for my mom because she loves it and they don't ever go to the fair, so we bought some of that to take home... as well as a cinnamon roll! What a way to end a great afternoon!!! ;)

Jett putting "mesin" on his boo-boo

Jett gets these dry patches on his skin, so we put hydrocortisone on it, which works great! Well, today we found him with this cream on his face and legs... he had gotten into the diaper rash cream and was smearing it all over himself saying, "mesin, face... mesin, boo boo" He was so serious while doing this and he looked so cute, I had to grab my camera! I'm tellin you, I think I'm going to have to rearrange a lot of things around this house! He gets into EVERYTHING!!! This morning he had the fingernail clippers out and was digging around his toes! OH MY GOSH!!! It's always something around here! I do have to say that he makes us laugh ALL THE TIME... especially when he's getting into trouble and he gives us these looks (I will try to take a picture of it to show you how cute it is) and tries to make us laugh. I can't believe he is already doing that! We are in big trouble!!

Ethan waiting to be picked up from Pre-K

I was waiting in the line to pick up Ethan and thought I would take a few pictures. I was telling Rod how I always think he looks like such a big boy, but when I see him standing in that line, he looks so small! I wanted to take pictures of how small he looks to remind me that he is still little. It is really cute how they have us pick up our kids. You can either park and walk up to the yellow line on the sidewalk, or you can pull around in the circle and they will bring your child to your car. They gave us signs to put on our visors with our child's name on them, so when they see which child goes in which vehicle the get them out of line and hold their hand until they get to the car. They open the door behind the passenger side to let your child in and don't let go until they are in the car... it's all very well planned. It's so fun to watch him in the line. I think they are supposed to stay on the sidewalk, but I have seen Ethan look around and then dive and roll into the grass, jump up and run back into the line again! I was laughing and shaking my head in the car! Such a boy thing!

Weekend with the McLaughlin Family

Over the Labor Day Weekend, we went to Bartlesville to see some family that we haven't seen in a while. It was so much fun! On Saturday night, we went to a kiddie park where they had all these miniature rides for the kids and it was all free! The kids had SO much fun! Well, Jett was a little terrified a couple of times, so we don't have many action pictures of him... the boat ride was the only one he would ride without having a terrified look on his face! But, Ethan and Avery had a great time! The weekend was so much fun and it made us miss them more! Hopefully we will really try to get together more often than we have this last year!

Long time, no blog...

Well, I can't believe it has been almost a month since my last blog! These are just a few pictures of my boys during that time. Hudson is gettting so big, I can't believe how fast the time has gone by! He is almost 4 months old! We tried the bumbo chair tonight and I think he really likes it! The only thing is that he looks down a lot, but he sure does wiggle and move like he's havin a good time! The boys look so big in these pictures... it's amazing how fast they grow up!
